Casas de Núñez • Guest House Remodel (Feat. Burrow)

In the fall of 2020, we began the complete renovation of a 100-year-old property in St. Petersburg, FL, Casas de Núñez. We loved this property from day 1 for many reasons, but perhaps the biggest reason that made us want to purchase this place, in particular, was the presence of a guest house located behind the primary residence (where we live). We're so thankful.

Of course, if you followed the renovation journey on IG, you know that it was in ROUGH shape when we got in there. The main house was a hot mess, but the guest house might have been even worse (see some before photos at the bottom of this post).

So, being the savvy fixer-upper couple that we are, the first thing we did after buying the property was renovate the guest house from the top down - so that we could get it rented out while working on the primary residence for us to live in! We hustled big time, finished the guest house renovations by December 2020 (in around 4.5 months), and got it rented it out for all of 2021 while we worked on the primary residence.

A year later, at the start of 2022, our tenants moved out of the guest house, and we decided to turn it into a vacation rental! A dream of ours we've had for many years.

With the space as a totally blank canvas, and the opportunity to collaborate with our friends at Burrow again, we start designing an interior that would feel cozy and colorful and very much us.

We're super thankful and excited to feature so much of Burrow's incredible furniture in the living spaces and bedrooms. We genuinely mean it when we say that we're in love with Burrow.

Overall, we're SO proud of how this home has come together and cannot wait to share it with our future guests!
